Dining at
The George
Dining at The George Inn, Eton offers a warm, classic pub‑experience steeped in history and framed by a prime location. Housed in a building dating back to around 1750, The George is built in traditional Georgian style with solid brickwork, timber‑framed floors, and a pitched tiled roof. It’s been a coaching inn since its early days, and its history still echoes in its character – from the architecture to the atmosphere.
As the flagship pub for Windsor & Eton Brewery, The George allows you to enjoy excellent, handcrafted beers alongside your meal. With four cask and six keg beer lines, plus guest ciders and bottles, there’s a broad selection of drinks to suit different tastes. The food is “outstanding pub food” with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients.
The setting enhances the experience, The George is on the Eton High Street, facing the bridge and offering views of Windsor Castle. There is a beer garden plus a function room called “The Hop House,” which was formerly horse stables, giving a link back to its coaching‑inn heritage.
